Description
Christopher has been a favorite work of art in my family for years. I was inspired to render my young nephew as a gift for my mother, who adored her lively grandson. Not a day went by that my nephew did not don his oversized cowboy hat and gallop through the house on his plastic pony. When I look at this artwork, I can still hear Christopher galloping through the house on his toy horse named Silver. One could not help but hear him from any room in the house, as he had somehow filled the body of the horse with coins that jangled with every gallop. My mother treasured this piece, but always intended to give it to my nephew should he marry and begin his own family. We lost my mother a few years ago to metastatic breast cancer, but I plan to honor her wishes and gift this to my nephew, who is now a man grown. Until then, his youthful rendering hangs in my living room, where it brings back memories that I cherish as much as my mother treasured her loved ones.
