Description

My art is not profound. I see a horse; I attempt to draw a horse. Sometimes I’m successful, and at other times I’m left with a crumpled piece of paper or a canvas that needs to be repurposed. Though it can be frustrating, the experience of creating ultimately brings me joy…. even if it is just recreating what I see. Animals are my favorite subject in both art and life. From the backyard raccoons to the neighborhood feral cats, I observe the animals around me (and spend a fortune keeping them fed and, in the case of the cats, sterilized). I enjoy interacting with and studying all members of the animal kingdom, but horses have long been a particular study for me in art. Their soulful eyes and majestic build make for models that are every bit as challenging as they are interesting.
